At the 2010 Quilter’s Expo in Melbourne, I picked up a pack of Fat Quarters of Amy Butler fabric and ever since have had them shuffled through my fabric stash over and over. Some I have plucked out and used in table runners and things but with one special lavender/lilac coloured one, I wanted to turn it into a tea tablecloth for a small outdoor table I have outside. I really wanted to incorporate it with coral….

Yummy fabrics getting put together

Using my patchwork board, rulers and cutter I placed the pieces of fabric together. all of which I already had in my fabric stash. I kept going outside to check the measurements on the table and to make sure that the really good pieces of fabric were visible on the tabletop and not hidden over the edges!!

Placement perfection...

I now have a rectangular shape that covers the entire of the top of the table. I’m on the lookout for a cream fabric with the slightest lime tinge to it, similar to the cream colour in the middle of the Amy Butler fabric. I will use this to drape the sides of the tablecloth all the way to the ground. The hunt begins, watch out fabric stash…

Have I raved enough about these yet!! Often you don’t have to iron them and you can roll them up in your suitcase and they are good to go! And so easy to clean! Enjoy

One of my favourite sites, Sportscraft, put together ‘looks’ with individual pieces of their in-season clothing, matching pieces that look fabulous together and including their accessories as well. Now I want to know – have you ever purchased a ‘look’ off a site?

Take a ‘look’ at the ‘looks‘ they have at the moment:

Or do you buy individual pieces and create your own looks?  Is the lookbook a useful function? Personally I find that it inspires me to put a look together similar to it…I think – do I have any of those pieces at home that I could use? Then I look at the picture again and just think – gee! they make it look so good I may as well just buy all their pieces!! But.. then can’t quite bring myself to making a $500 order – oh well….

If you were to check out one of my Pinterest boards here, you’ll see a few different foxes in various different forms. In fact I am wild about the wildness of foxes. They are silent and fast and have a beautiful burnt orange colour. I get inspired even when I see one cross the road!

Alexa’s dress has a great fox print on it, with quite textured colour. Leona Edmiston has gone for a two-tone approach but foxy all the same!

It’s going to be wet, wet, wet here on the East Coast of Queensland tomorrow. But that’s ok we’re busily tracking down some kind of outdoor shelter that is waterproof so we can carry on with our festivities regardless of rain, hail or shine.

I’m a huge fan of the name Matilda also, so I found this very interesting from Wikipedia:

Style Stellar Cloth what a bizarre name for a blog you say? Well I have a lot to say and show and I am going to show and tell it all right here – for you, in stellar style. Then you can tell me what you think, and then maybe even share a little something else, who knows?

Our own style is unique and I love that. We should all show it off right?! When I see something while I am browsing online, like I often am, and it absolutely hands-down stands out to me – then I have to do something about it, record it somehow. You know the things that you LOVE?? and then you think I have to have that?? or I’m at least going to save a picture of that to my laptop or ipad?? well this is where I’m going to do exactly that.
